Calling from a local UK landline (like 01727-xxx-xxx) to the V-Access number 01727-226-166 (listed on Vonage.com) - gets a recorded message saying 'number is invalid'.

Have previously failed when calling 01727-***-*** UK Virtual numbers in UK from an Orange Mobile.

Q1: Is there a pattern of UK phone providers treating V-Access numbers as 'invalid'?
Q2: If so, is there a known work-around?
Q3: If not, what is the most effective procedure to get the block lifted?

BTW: (a) Had submitted same question to email support - their reply indicates question not understood.
(b) Called phone support, after 39 mins explaining the issue, person went off to research & call back 'in 10 mins'. No reply by voice or email.
