I just now signed up for the vonage service and now have a few more questions.
1. Does it really take up to 7 business days to ship me the adapter as stated in their confirmation?
2. Someone yesterday answered another question about their adapter that if it breaks they will replace it for you unlike the store bought ones, however I noticed on their site that their equipment only has a 30 day warranty, is this true as well?
3. When does my 14 day satisfaction begin, now when i wont be getting my equipment for a week or so, or once i receive my equipment.
Any and all responses to any of the above questions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again!! |

2. good question. this is what I've always heard, and seems to be standard practice (i.e. cable modems are replaced free) I'm going to try to find out more about this though.
3. it begins now, though some have had success getting it extended, esp if the adapter takes longer than usual to arrive. |

ok, technically it looks like you're right.
http://vonage.com/help_knowledgeBase_article.php?article=183
and in section 5.5 in the terms of service (titled No Warranties, or Limited Warranties, for Devices) ToS is located here: http://vonage.com/features_terms_service.php
to sum it up, it looks like the device(s) are covered for a year from mfr's defects only. now, fwiw, you can see in various posts and I saw from personal experience (see story below is interested) that vonage seems to only charge shipping (both ways) if you want to replace your device for no particular reason. so where I'm going with this is, if they'll just charge shipping to replace a working device, then how much more will they charge for one that was broken for a good reason (power surge, etc.) basically anything that wasn't caused by the user, baggage handlers, etc. My guess is probably not much more, and they may credit it all back to you once they receive and verify that the device was broken in a way you didn't have (much) control over.
my story: friend had cisco ATA (old vonage device) and wanted the linksys RT31P2. he called them up and they charged him 9.95 for shipping (same as new sign-ups) and he had to ship the cisco back. |
