Mac sees the Linksys both the old one and the brand new one I just bought yesterday but will not connect to internet. In fact ever since I was forced to split my DSL to a separate line from the number I was porting over to Vonage the only way to connect to the internet is via ethernet. From everything I have read it seems to be either a "bridge issue" or a using a different IP address for the Linksys. Vonage tech support basically gave up and said to call Linksys or MAC. Once upon a time when ATT came out repair DSL they came inside and the tech said something about the bridge settings but I don't know if that is something on the router or on their modem... I am so done!

Check to see what your DNS servers on the router. If you're using AT&T DSL there is an "issue" with the way that their DSL modems are setup. The issue is that when the router grabs an IP from the modem the modem fails to pass the DNS servers to the router thus internal clients have no name resolution. As such you have three options. 1 - Plug directly to the modem and tell it to not process AT&T logins at the modem but rather have the router login for you and establish the IP and DNS settings from ATT. 2 - Leave it as it is and copy the parameters from the modem to the router via manual DNS input. 3 - You could just use OpenDNS for DNS resolution.

Or it could be something completely different... I've just seen this often in the past year or so with AT&T DSL.

Thanks for the post! Are you referring to the Linksys router or the Vonage adapter/router? Can you "spell it out" a little more for me with the options you listed?

You would want to check on the device that is plugged directly after the DSL box. This would be the device that would actually get the DNS queries from the internet point. From there all routers daisy chained *should* pick up their replies from the router at the ISP point.
