I posted this in the HardWiring section, & have not gotten any response as yet. I hope I will get one from here.
I had vonage for 2 yrs. I used it with verizon & a splitter that holds the DSL cable and recieves the phone line from the vonage device. This allowed all the wall jacks (6 in total) in my house to have a phone signal where I could get & may calls. Last year I switched to Comcast, then , switched back to vonage & verizon in Feb of this year. I received the new vonage device & a new verizon modem (westell 7500). However, I just recently ran into a problem whereby the vonage techs nor verizon tech seem to be providing any reasonable answers. My wife was trying to do a fax, & inadvertently disconnected the DSL line, when the vonage device had an error, she then reset the verizon modem & the vonage device. Now, if I connect the telephone line into the splitter, it knocks out the Internet light on the modem & the DSL light starts blinking. The vonage tech says that it is the DSL speed (DL 1030, UL 350); the verizon tech says it is not the speed it is the splitter ( I tried 2 splitters , one old the other brand new, same result). One of the many vonage techs I spoke with said that my device "automatically" received an update/firmware it was noted on my file that it should have received the update. Alll this seems confusing to me that since my wife did the resets everything that worked over 2 years just comes to a halt. Thanks for your help. |
