Post subject: Split Vonage & Vonage Fax Line
I have the
Vonage
Business line with which provides line 2 for the fax line. The problem I have is I need the fax line on the 2nd floor and the phone line on the the first floor.
I have an extra
Vonage
modem from a previous line. Is there any way I can keep the
Vonage
modem for just the fax line and plug in this other modem downstairs for the voice line, even to point of buying another
Vonage
modem if I can not use this extra one that I already have.
I can not run an extension line but I already have Cat5 installed on the first floor with extra ports.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Yes you can do that. You can move your lines between devices by using the Move a Line section in your online account (Add-Ons > Move a Line).
If the device isn't active on your account yet, you will need to activate it. You can do that at
www.vonage.com/activate
and follow the options for existing customer, move existing line, etc.

Thanks Trekologer,
Gave tech support a call to make sure I did it correctly. In a matter of minutes it was up. Now have the fax line upstairs and the phone line downstairs.
This saved all kinds of headaches running more wire since I had Cat5 already downstairs.
