Hello everyone I am thinking really hard of getting Vonage. I am sick and tired of my phonebill getting more and more each month. I called the customer and she answered some none technical questions for me and I'm here to ask some technical questions.
1. I have Comcast for an ISP and I read awhile ago that comcast drops Vonage calls from time to time. I want to know is this still a issue or is it resolved?
2. Others who use comcast are you happy with the service with Vonage and are the calls clear?
3. Is there software so I can talk on my PC and not using a handset phone?
4. Can I use those phones that can be connected to one phone jack? Example, those phones you buy that comes in 2-3 in a box and you plug 1 in the jack and you can use all 3 in different locations in the house.
5. Do playing online games(PC/Console) and bittorent affects the service in a big way? Like constant dropped calls or incoming and outgoing not going through. |

I can answer a few of these. I am not a Camcost user so 1 and 2 can't be answered.
3. Yes there is a FREE application by Vonage, it is in a testing faze so it maybe discontinued, it is called Vonage Talk and have a look at it and other alpha products at alpha.vonage.com
4. I use the phone that has a base plus 2 extensions and it works fine. You can plug the base phone in the Vonage adapter or if you do the re-wiring you only have to run a phone cord to the adapter and use the base phone plugged into any phone jack in the house. Look for rewiring on this site, very easy to do.
5. I don't play any online games, but I do my share of bittorents, around 60 gig a month and when I am on the phone, it takes priority over the downloading.
I hope I have helped you in your questions.
