I'm trying to make a decision as to a new phone service. Is anyone out there a current member of Vonage and if so, how is the service? Are there any problems with the service? What specifics will I need to access my home phone (via net) with my cell and office numbers?
Any and all comments welcome!
Thank you. |

http://roffe.net/voip
what do you mean access your home phone? it works the same as any phone. you dial the number and your phone rings.
some other things you should do before signing up:
vonage-forum.com/voip-speed-test" target="_blank">http://www.vonage-forum.com/voip-speed-test
testyourvoip.com (detailed results)
if yo don't understand your results, post them here and we'll explain them for you. |

One thing I never understood...(and I decided to post this here rather than waste space with a whole new thread)...is, say you have a cell phone and Vonage. And you want to use call forwarding on your cell to forward the call to your Vonage number. If you do this, I'm well aware you incur charges for using Vonages minutes (or you don't if you have the unlimited plan) but do you also incur charges from your wireless carrier? I've always thought you wouldn't, seeing as how you're not actually talking on that number, it's getting re-routed to a different one. Anyone know? |

I suppose it depends on your plan. My tmobile family plan includes 500 minutes of forwarding time. How they know how long you're on a forwarded call I have no idea, but their support page says this:
"Additional per minute charges apply to calls forwarded to another number." |
