Ok I just got U-Verse and have a 2-Wire router from AT&T. Connect puter to Vonage D-Link to 2wire and it will keep VoIP for a bit then drops out. Have tried different configurations in the D-Link but nothing seems to help. Still have internet as I am typing to you now but power light is flashing and no phone line light. Was not this way on the other servie i had a few days ago, cable modem. Can tracert Vonage IP addys just fine except when I tracert www.vonage.com it will stop at VONAGE_HOLDI and time put, 30 hops.
Any help or direction would be great. Thanks |

Do you have to supply login credentials to access the internet via u-verse? If so, you may need to move those credentials from the computer to the v-portal to keep the access continual. I'm not that familiar with u-verse so I can't be sure. |

ksig has been the only one to respond so far. I have the SAME EXACT PROB. But no ksig we do not have to login to get online. i had read another forum that said they had same issue with AT&T (i think)voip somewhere. Actually had to set it up to call every 20 minutes so it would stay active. |

i can unplug the Vonage router and plug right back in or go inot config page and restart and it will go online for VoIP but after about 20 minutes it drops ONLY VoIP not internet. |

To me that sounds like it is killing the keep alive between vonage and your ATA. Basically the device is loosing its connection to the vonage server. I'm not at home so I can't take a look at my v-portal but my assumption is that for some reason the communication to vonage fails and the device just bombs out. Any of the vonage experts think I might be onto something here. |

More info:
At about 20 minutes it drops. When on the phone at 20 minutes it has two 2-3 second dead spots at 20 minutes.
Yes ksig i know that is what is happening cause I can do everything, even ping Vonage IPs. The thing is how to make it stop or start that is.
I dont see anything in the config page to cure this. |

It tries to reconnect ever so often. i will be surfing the net and notice the page will hang, look over at the D-Link router and notice power light and phone light are on solid but drop out in just a few seconds. So it looks like VoIP router is trying to reconnect but has issues doing so. |

Hi Friend,
Broadband telephone service provider Vonage said Monday that it has replaced Cisco Systems with Motorola as its exclusive telephone adapter supplier with Internet service.
This is good news for you to start internet. |
