Post subject: Any suggestions on ways to get round ISP blocking Vonage
I am trying to use
Vonage
in the UAE and the ISP has blocked the ports that
Vonage
use.
Does anyone have suggestions on the best way round this without adversely affecting voice quality.
Thank you

You'll need to use a VPN that will encapsulate your traffic and connect to
vonage
's servers from their endpoint.

Thank you for the suggestion. Where would be the best geographical location to situate the VPN gateway for a UK
vonage
line ? Thank you

That's a great question and I'm not sure I'm one that could properly answer it. I'm not sure where
Vonage
ATA's connect. They may connect to a border router in the UK or the US. Wherever they connect from would ideally be the best end point of your VPN for better network response.
