Post subject: V-Portal Opinions
Just wondering if anyone had some opinions on the features and quality of the V-portal. Specifically if you have used another device and can compare the V-portal to it. I'm thinking of picking up a V-portal while I'm back in the states. My Dlink VTA works fine but I'd like to have another for backup in case the VTA craps out. Thinking about maybe using the V-portal and keeping the Dlink for a backup. Noticeable improvements in sound or anything? Thanks for any opinions!

The voice quality of the VTA and V-Portal are both very good. I have one of each and can't tell the difference.
The biggest benefit of the V-Portal is that it has pretty good QoS. If you have it first in your network, you'll get that out of it. If its behind a router, you don't get that. The screen tells you what's wrong if its not working.
If I didn't have a router with good QoS, I'd pick the V-Portal over the VTA. Otherwise its a toss-up.
