I have RR 2.0 a D-ink 524 wireless router and Vonage V-Portal router. Every once and a while the internet will stop working and then I see that my MacBook has lost its airport settings and want to connect to a non-secure access point.
I have the V-Portal hooked up behind my D-link 524. Is there something I need to configure on the V-Portal or on the D-link to stop this. WHat I think may be going on is that the two routers are fighting with each other.
Time Warner came out a bout 1 yr ago and put a filter on my line might that be part of the problem?
Sometimes I will have to reset the modem, D-link 524 and V-Portal for things to come back again.
I ran a speed test and this is what internet frog told me.

This has nothing to do with the V-Portal or Vonage. Since your losing internet and it is the D-Link that is connected to the modem, this is what provides you your internet connection. The V-Portal is completely out of the picture. And the significance of your Mac book losing wireless connectivity to the D-Link and then connects to an unsecured wireless access point, is direct proof that your D-Link router is causing the issue. |

I had a Linksys router that did the same thing. Basically every couple of months the router would reboot and after coming back online, all settings were back to defaults. It was like the NVRAM was toast. Linksys swapped it out... try seeing if D-Link will do the same for you. |
