Can anyone tell me if one of the Vonage commercials is voiced by Sean Murray (who plays computer whiz Special Agent Tim McGee on NCIS)? A few people have mentioned it, and I just want a clear answer, as when I emailed Vonage they sent back a form email that sent me here.
If there is indeed such a commercial, or even one that sounds like him, can someone let me know which one?
Cheers!

I haven't heard the commercial.

Too funny that Vonage would send you the non-official Vonage forum.

Well, if the telecommunications industry in the US is in even half the shambles that it is here in New Zealand, I imagine I was probably directed here by someone who received my email in a call center somewhere in deepest, darkest Asia. No doubt they barely understand or speak English, and have no idea what I'm on about - hence their incredible lack of assistance.

So it stands to reason that they would send a form email, rather than just give me actual "customer care"...... Rolling Eyes

What e-mail address did you send your initial question to?

I am not sure why anyone from Vonage would direct you here either but what I can tell you is that no one in Vonage Customer Care, Tech Support, or Engineering roles that support customers would be able to answer your question since the support people have nothing to do with Marketing the product, advertising, or commercials and there is no way for Call Center employees to physically communicate with the Chief Marketing Officer or Executives in the Marketing department which might be the only people who would know the answer to your question.

You also need to know that Call Center employees are not permitted to type up their own responses in e-mails. They have to use generic type e-mail templates approved by Marketing to respond to customers. These templates can only be slightly modified in order to meet the customers inquisition. That is why you received a "form email, rather than just give me actual "customer care" as you called it.

I originally emailed the customer care team, who directed me to the corporate website, where I received this reply:

Thank you for contacting Vonage, the award winning digital phone service!

I understand you would like to know whether Sean Murray will be doing a commercial for Vonage.

Alice, at present we do not have any official announcement on this. We will be updating it in the forums. You can also check the forums to know more about our commercials.

If you have any questions, your Vonage team is available to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Contact us whenever and however it suits you!

- On-Line Support Center at http://www.vonage.com/support.php
- Contact Us at http://www.vonage.com/help_contactus.php
- Or call Toll-Free at 1-VONAGE-HELP (1-866-243-4357)

If you call us for Technical Support, in order for our highly trained specialists to successfully assist you, it is highly recommended that you are near the Vonage phone adapter you are calling about and in the location you intend to use your Vonage service.

Thanks again for choosing Vonage, a better phone service for less!

Sincerely,

Aparna
Vonage Customer Care

Coming from a small country (only 4 million people), I can't imagine having twenty million customers and having to provide acceptable service to each and every one of them. In New Zealand, it's expected that someone replies fairly promptly to any inquiry, and that if you can't provide the answer you actually admit that and pass the inquiry on to someone who does. So perhaps my expectations are too high?

Yeah they are not directing you to this forum since this is not an officially owned or operated Vonage entity. The forums they are referring to are the ones that Vonage does operate and staff. It can be found at
https://forums.vonage.com/

I highly doubt you will find your answer there but if you post your question on that Vonage Forum, it is monitored by people who have a closer relationship with Vonage Marketing.

I belong to the other forum mentioned and that is more to do with the alpha or beta products.

The Vonage forum referenced does cover Alpha and Beta products as well as existing Production ready products, features and services. It does have a forum for General Discussion where the question can be posted. Like I said, most likely will not get an answer there either but the moderators are closer to the correct organization that can ping Marketing for an answer.
