Hmm...My ISP says, to their knowledge, no ports are blocked and that other users have used Skype and other Voip services. If its not blocked ports, any suggestions? |

geez, why couldn't you just say "transfer failed that must be the problem"? ;) ok, well, here's about the last thing I can think of besides calling Vonage again. I notice earlier in the thread you said "there's nothing after registration status or call status for either phone port." when Vonage sends out a router, they preconfigure it with the phone number it's going to have. that coupled with your old firmware leads me to believe the device was bought from a retail establishment (possibly in the US) and shipped to you in the mail. is this correct? if so, have you gone to http://www.vonage.com/activate/ and activated the device? |

I ordered the router direct from Vonage and then had a friend send it on. On a lark, I tried activating it anyway, but it didn't work.
One last thing...still wondering if it could be related to the fact that I'm using two routers. I've pinged both routers and they both respond, but when I got to the local network status under the linksys page, it doesn't show the othe router. So is it possible that my computer can talk to both routers, but they can't talk to each other? |

nitano,
I am also in South Africa, Telkom has been known to block Voip packets to Voip providers ? what ports does your router want to connect on ?
