Luckily the guy who installed the telephone wires has labeled them right next to the punch block.
So, what you are saying is that I remove the blue white pair labeled living room (my office) from the punch block and connect it to the place where the blue white pair is on the star shaped alarm terminal....
If I removed the blue white pair coming from my office, will I lose dial tone on the other jacks ???? The phone installer said that all my jacks are wired in parallel and not in series ????? |

OK... I found the blue white pair from the office and pulled it off the punch block. Then I spliced it (had to due to short cable run) to the blue white wires in the phone block feeding the alarm panel. The user panel still complains, but my alarm guy will try to get into the panel tomorrow....
If this does not work, does it mean either
(1) that the blue white pair is not carrying the dial tone to the rest of the house or
(2) The living room feed is not from my office....
(waiting with fingers crossed) |

Well,
My alarm company tested the system and reported that they were able to access the panel. They will be sending test signals to confirm.
