My VT100 seems to be dead. the lighting that usualy blinks when it powers up isnt working at all. even after unplugging it for more than an hour. the port lights (where ethernet hooks up) work. So, after spending a cold (17 degrees) half hour at a payphone waiting on hold for vonage tech support, they are sending me the linksys phone router one. just one problem... I already have a Linksys WRT54G Wireles Router and a Linksys WAP54G Access Point. Now with the VT100, I've always had it behind my wireless Router. My Question is, can the Linksys Phone Router be configured to work behind the router? if so, do i need to assign it a static ip? also, my linksys router has QoS. I understand The Linksys Phone Router also has QoS. Do I enable QoS in the WTR54G Router, or the Linksys Phone Router, or both? Also, how long does it take vonage to switch my phone number from the old VT100 to the New Linksys hone Router, or is it done as soon as it's plugged in, and working right? Thanks |

you should be able to simply plug the new adaptor into an available port on your existing router. In that case, all it does is provide VOiP; you won't use the routing or wireless functionality.
The first device on your network should manage your QoS - in your case it seems that would be the WRTG54. I'd then assign the adpator a static ip on the same subnet as your router, as well as make sure you've enabled port forwarding for the Vonage ports on the WRTG54.
