Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to find out if you're getting a phone call from windows. I work at home and frequently have the ringer off because of a sleeping baby. I thought it would be cool to somehow know from my pc when a phone call arrives.
Thanks! |

If you have the Vonage Pro plan, you can keep your companion running on the PC and it will ring everytime your house lines rings:

Try connecting your PC modem to the same phone line as your phone and set up your modem software to notify you when there's an incoming call. |

Or for free, you can install Vonage Talk, see http://alpha.vonage.com/vtalk |

If you have a bluetooth headset, you can answer the call via your computer. One tip, if the call quality is not what you expect and some jitter ends up in the picture, seemingly from your computer doing things, you can run it as a background service, found this on MJ, which would suffer from the same issues as it is sharing CPU cycles:

Ignore the stuff about MJ and the SB, etc., just look at running as a background service. |
