Post subject: Vonage device and phone in different rooms.
I am considering purchasing
Vonage
, but would like to know if there is anyone out there that has a way to make the connection.
The main phone is in the kitchen and cannot be moved. The
Vonage
router would be in the home office connected to the cable modem and then a wireless G router.
My question is: Is it possible to put a wireless expander next to the phone in the kitchen that runs wirelessly off the router and will provide the phone with
Vonage
service? I've done this to my DirecTV box to get on demand programming and pay per view.
I appreciate all your responses, but please don't answer by saying to move the phone into the office. Thanks!!

Check out the "hard-wiring" forums. You most likely can use the existing wiring in your house. You'll just need to tap into one of the existing jacks and send the signal from the v-portal to that jack and all the previous jacks will work.
Also - Remember that the phones will still run on analog connections and not over the ethernet. The v-portal/ATA only connects to the ethernet to connect back to Vonage's servers.
