After my fun and games with background noise, read here: http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic2029.html+noise. I fell in love with my new phone system. So I started telling my friend and family. Well Within 3 days one of my friends went out and bought the Linksys Phone Adapter for Vonage (PAP2), and what did I get? Nothing, Nada, Zilch, Zero! Why you ask, because he bought it from a retail store. Well did I not refer him, if not for me he would have never heard of Vonage, so I feel I got screwed. You should at least get something, one month free or maybe free fax for a month. Like that would set Vonage back. All I am saying is I had a hand in it so I should get something. Hence the phrase Refer-A-Friend. Mad

I agree. If your friend buys it retail, there should be a place for them to put either your Vonage account number and/or email address when they go to activate their retail purchased phone adapter. At the very least they should consider giving $10 off your next bill for referred friends who purchase retail. Unfortunately, it does not work that way and Best Buy or what ever store it was purchased in, gets the money.

I'm glad you agree. I would like Voip to take off, but without word of mouth it will be slow to show. How many people out there like my parents will go and change over there whole phone system without someone me telling them this is the sh@t. I can’t use the order Vonage over the computer wait for the device to come in and then set it up. When I visit I will go to whatever store and buy the device and connect them. There should be a connect your family and friends and I save plan. Very Happy

i told two friends about Vonage and explained to them that if they signed up for service through the email i sent them, that they would recieve each recieve a free month of service. both signed up and recieved the linksys ata in 3 business days. they're both delighted with the service and are both saving over $100 a month. me on the other hand, i'm laughing all the way to the bank as the moment they signed up, my account was credited for $49.99 for each referral! that's right, 4 months free!

had your friend done the same, you would be enjoying the same benefits, so don't blame Vonage for your friends hastiness.
