Post subject: How QoS fax and voip for vonage
We have problem with some people that use
vonage
to send and receive faxes, and we think need prioritize the traffic for faxes. What ports use
vonage
to send/receive faxes and what ports to
voip
?
Thanks
Christian

A little confused by what you are asking since, there is no difference in the traffic. Fax machines are just a type of modem that allows data to be sent in the same manner as voice calls.
Now if you have a separate adapter for a faxline you could priortize that adapter on a network, but there is no specific port usage.

I agree with outerfire. As long as SIP and RTP have a high QoS value you should have a nice clear phone connection.
