I have connected my Vonage adaptor to Netgear router. Voice calls work fine.
Given limited number of ports, I connected my desktop PC to Vonage adaptor. My PC can connect to internet fine but can no longer see my network devices including Nas and Printers.
Is there a setting on the V adaptor to allow this?

This has nothing to do with the V-Portal itself. This is basic networking principles. If you had 2 routers of any sort and put a PC behind one of them and a PC behind the other, they would not be able to see or talk to each other because they are on separate subnet's which are isolated.
In your description, I gather your set up is modem to Netgear with PC's to V-Portal with a PC.
In order to correct this, someone who understands networking basic concepts could perform static routing. Not easy for beginners and not all routers can do this.
Another method would be to connect the WAN port of the V-Portal to the modem and the WAN Netgear to the LAN of the V-Portal. All PC's can then connect to the Netgear.
Other method would be to do a DHCP relay so that the 2nd router would just pass DHCP from the leading router.
Easiest and best method to correct is to purchase a cheap 5 or 8 port switch. Connect switch to port 4 on the Netgear. Connect the V-Portal WAN port to port 1 on the Netgear and then connect all your PC"s into the switch. |

I used a mini ethernet port switch to solve problem as you suggested. |

i heard from someone that we can put both devices with class B ip addresses.
then the two networks will be on the same class B network.
i just don't know if this will work. haven't tried my self.
ex:
router 1
WAN IP: DHCP
LAN IP: 191.168.15.1
Subnet: 255.255.0.0
router 2
WAN: DHCP
LAN IP: 191.168.16.1
Subnet: 255.255.0.0
can anyone check if this would work. |

Most likely no... regardless if they are both class B or not, the external interface is NAT'ing the internal addresses. Therefore all the traffic is blocked on what it thinks is the internet network. |
