Anyone have a known good method of getting around the ISP blockng of Vonage?
I ran a port test and all came back as blocked (even port 80) which suggests a firewall or similar at the ISP.
Skype chat and voice works here (for now!!!).
Believe they (qualitynet.net) actively scan for Voip data packets too?
Heard that SSL VPN is a good working solution, anyone verify this?
Also if its the case, who is recommended as a service provider with good rates and service?
Is SSL VPN better than just a standard VPN and if so why? Any other technologies which would better in terms of quality, etc which I could use?
Lots of questions, I know but to those concerned enough to reply, Thanks for your help! A PM on anything which we wouldnt want the ISP to read is fine by me , wouldnt want them blocking the methods of getting around them now would we |

I have no direct experience, but I have heard the same thing. SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is typically involvd in VPN. Basically it encrypts the data on a certain port, which gets by the blocking activity of the ISP. |
