Greetings!
First off I will say I have read a lot of posts here and have found them very helpful, but I have run into a bit of a brick wall.
I have my security system hooked up properly into the Vonage system and have increased my Vonage Bandwidth to 90kbps and increased the packetization to 10.
I can unplug the Security system from the phone line (I am using a coupler) and plug in a phone and get a dial tone. However, when I plug in the Security system and pick up a phone in the house, I get an error 007 on the Vonage device and I get a message (and a dial tone at the same time) to check the port that my phone (in this case the security system) is plugged into. The Vonage is hooked up properly. As soon as I disconnect the system my service returns to normal.
Guardian (my security service provider) has stated this can be remedied with a visit by a technician and will give me no phone help. A technician is quite costly so I was wondering if anyone might have any suggestions on this. If I can provide more info please let me know.
Thanks in advance! |

If your Vonage device is a VDV21VD, both lines appear on the phone 1 jack. To avoid unintended connections to the second line, use only a two-wire modular cord with the phone 1 jack. |

that did the trick! I called Guardian and the test ran successfully and the FC status was cleared from the alarm.
