I just received an email about a class-action lawsuit against Vonage for customers that had a dedicated FAX line in addition to a voice line. It was the first I had heard of it, so I started looking online and found nothing other than the website http://www.bustosfaxsettlement.com/. As I am in this category, I started to fill out the information, but I started to get a little leary of some of the questions it was asking, as if it were an identity theft-type ploy. I do recognize that there is a problem with Vonage's FAX service... I can generally receive FAXs OK, but I have to tell my FAX machine to turn "Overseas mode" on before every single FAX... I can do this, but it shouldn't have to be that way. |

I got the same email, and I was wandering the same thing after filling out the first page when I got to the SSN question...was not sure if this is a phishing site or not.
I checked the domain owner: Rust Consulting, Inc. clausm@rustconsulting.com 625 MARQUETTE AVE STE 880 MINNEAPOLIS, MN 55402 US Phone: 612-359-2000
Their website looks ok. And a phishing attempt would not be as complex as this email/website is.
I am going to fill out that thing, even if its only worth that 20 dollars. |

Rust Consulting is a legitimate business; they are administrators for many class action matters.
But to be safe, I'd go directly to the Rust Consulting site and see if this is a listed case. And, I'd send e-mail to them to confirm if it's not listed.
I'm not sure there is any reason for them to need or you to provide an SSN. That is most suspicious.
Being safe today is a whole lot better than being sorry for the next few hundred tomorrows. |

Does not ask for your entire SSN. it only asked for the last 4. |

I actually received a postcard today about this class action suit. Everything looked pretty legitimate to me. |
