1. While I'm sure you hooked everything up correctly, you should humor us and tell us HOW your system is hooked up. 2. Have you registered your adapter with Vonage? |

It is a VDV21-VD Voice Router, the phone line is connected to the Vonage router and the Vonage router is connected to the time warner cable modem, which is connected via ethernet cable to my computer |

Is the MAC address of the VDV21 provisioned to your Vonage account meaning did you purchase at a store and use retail activation to activate or was it shipped to you from Vonage? If you mistyped the MAC address into retail activation and the MAC was a valid MAC, you may have the wrong MAC on your account which means, it wont get provisioned.
PM me your MAC to confirm. |

Just flip the VDV21 over and the MAC address is on the sticker. It will say MAC ID: |

Your phone number is registering with the SIP proxy. This means all is good between the VDV21 and Vonage. If your not getting a dial tone, this indicates one of two things.
Item 1) There is an issue with how the phone is connected into Phone port 1 on the back of the VDV21. make sure your connecting your phone directly to the Green port labeled 1 on the back of the VDV21. Do not use splitters or home wiring or even a standalone caller ID box. Your RJ-11 phone cable should have one end in your phone and one end in the VDV21. If this is how it is, try a different phone and phone cable.
Item 2) Phone port 1 is defective on the VDV21. You can move the phone number to phone port 2 from inside your Vonage web account. The link to where this is perform is https://secure.vonage.com/vonage-web/movenumber/index.htm
Once you have moved the line, the device will have to download the new profile from Vonage which will take a few minutes so just be patient. Once this is done, move your phone cable over to Phone port 2 on the VDV21 and retest.
Attempt to go over the parts listed in Item 1 before trying Item 2 as if it is a phone or wire issue, the same problem will occur in phone port 2. |
