Having (at last) received my Vonage ATA I have been exploring what it can and cannot do.
I note that the CLI presentation from UK PSTN to Vonage ATA is incorrect - it drops the leading '0' when presented to the telephone handset. The result of this is that when I use the callback function of the handset, the number called (lacking the leading '0') is incorrect and the call does not go through!
Also - outbound calls to UK PSTN present an 'International' CLI Unvailable flag - not much good!

And to think they show Caller ID on their UK website as being presented in the correct format!
Apparently with iConnectHere, UK numbers are presented as "44xxxxxxxxxx" with no international prefixes or trunk codes. Lucky they got that sorted out, or if they just showed 20xxxxxxxx for a London number, anyone dialling that would end up in Egypt.
And I understand that Call Return doesn't work either, and nor does Emergency Services. Not much point having unique features if they don't work.... |

My ATA finally arrived today (whole other topic) so I haven't yet had a chance to test the inbound CLI presentation apart from noticing that on the control panel that calls from my landline (one-tel CPS'd) come up unavailable.
However outbound CLI comes up as 44207xxxxxxx which is almost as much use as a chocolate teapot for returning calls.
Vonage need to get these simple things fixed PDQ or it is going to cause them problems with takeup |
