I'm considering adding another line. I have an adapter with an unused port, so I won't need any new equipment from Vonage.
I've read the entire Terms of Service, but it does not give a concrete answer whether Vonage still requires a minimum 1 year committment. I've been a subscriber since 2004, before minimum terms were required. In 2006 I called to add a line and was told the new line would be a one-year hitch, so I bought an ATT/CV line instead.
Does Vonage still lock us in for a year, or have they seen the light and changed their mind on that misguided direction? The ToS document uses the word "IF" frequently, so that suggests not "all" plans are necessarily 1-year terms.
Also, something I haven't seen before-- in the Terms of Service there is an "In Plan/Out of Plan Overview & Charges" section which says the Unlimited Residential plan has "unlimited" minutes included, but then lists an Overage Fee of $0.039 per minute. How can an unlimited plan have overage fees? (Is this a veiled reference to the invisible 5000 minute cap, or do new lines have other fees?)
I haven't needed to know this for quite a while (couple years) so I'm here asking questions like a newbie.
Can someone bring this long-time-Vonage-Forum-member (who hasn't been around for a while) back up to speed?
Thanks. |

I would speak to a Vonage account manager about that. IMO if you've had continued service since 2004, then the 1/2 year thing shouldn't apply, even if you add new lines, upgrade/downgrade accounts etc. |
