Is it possible to set up an 800 number and have extensions on it (many, up to 100, perhaps more) which will route to other phone numbers (either 800 or local numbers) also, will Vonage help me keep track of the extension routing, i.e. how many times extension 121 was dialed within a month? |

Vonage boxes can certainly have a number of extensions connected to them, but I don't know that they would come close to handling 100, if each of the 100 has a ringer, even with a low loading factor (REN). Also, as far as Vonage would be concerned, a phone call to the 800 number would be just that and nothing more. How you chose to handle extensions and routing from them would not be something with which they would help you. |

I think you are asking if it is possible to have an 800 number that terminates on a PBX. The answer is yes, any Vonage telephone line, including one that has an 800 number associated with it, may be connected to a PBX if the PBX supports analog telephone lines.
The PBX may be able to support 100 extensions and it may be able to forward calls off-premises to other telephone numbers, but that is a function of the PBX, not of the carrier who supplies your 800 service. If the PBX provides this service, it may also support per-station call accounting.
If you want a carrier to supply you with an 800 number and an auto-attendant which routes your inbound calls to multiple extensions for you, you're talking about something like Centrex service. As far as I know, Vonage does not offer it. Check out Packet8 (8x8.com). |
