I've got my VDV21-VD hanging off the back of a DLink DIR-655 wireless N router. It works well but I noticed some delay in connecting so I assumed it was the DIR-655 firewall. I've put the VDV-21 in the DMZ of the router -- any security issues with that? It's essentially sitting outside the firewall but still connected to my network --
Thanks in advance --

You should not need to do that. In fact, I would reccomend against it. Putting your device in the DMZ isn't putting it outside the firewall. Instead, its forwarding all unrequested incoming data to it.
Instead, there is a setting in your D-Link DIR-655 called Application Layer Gateway. Turn it off for SIP (I'd turn it off for everything actually since it does nothing useful), power cycle everything, then check if your problem goes away. |

I've pulled it out of the DMZ and unchecked the SIP as you said and all it fine. Thanks for the info and help!

I put my V-Portal in a DMZ to eliminate the 2-3 second lag in being able to hear and be heard in inbound calls. Works well so far. |
