Good morning friends, I would like to know if I can forward a Vonage line to a cellular phone... for some reason I need to have two different cellular phone numbers (for different businesses) and in order to only carry one phone I would like to hire a Vonage line (which I would give to clients as the other cellular phone) and I would then forward it to my first cel phone... I am aware that I would not be able to use my cel phone to make calls... just receive them.... IS IT POSIBLE?

Vonage does have call forwarding that you can forward to any number. However I am confused about what you really are looking to achieve. Vonage provide phone service over the internet. It would not be a cell phone or anything you can carry around with you like a cell phone.

If you were to get Vonage, you would be assigned a phone number or you can port a number to them. You can then set up call forwarding to the number of your choice from the Vonage web account.

You mentioned you were aware of not being able to make calls. Not sure what that means. If you connect your Vonage device to the internet, you can make calls. If you don't connect it, then you would not be able to make calls but you can still use the number for your purpose of call forwarding.

My intention is to foward the Vonage line to my cel phone, the tricky part is this... my cel phone is a Mexican cel phone as I am going to be in Mexico for business for a while... I am aware I will get charged an international call every time I will get a call (as it will be forwarded to my cel phone in Mexico).

Vonage does allow for international call forwarding so you will be able to do this. Log into web account. Go to features. Choose call forwarding. Just put your Mexican cell phone number into the call forwarding text box starting with the country code. You do not need to enter the 011 prefix.

You have a number of options here.

As mentioned the Vonage line will forward to international, and Mexico calls are not free (about a penny a minute) IF there are no additional charges to connect to cell phones as there are in Italy.

The other thing you could do is forward your wireless phone that you are leaving behind to your Vonage number. I believe you can also forward that call to your Mexican Cell phone from Vonage. That way you do not need to give your customers a different phone, but will cost minutes on your cell phone that you leave behind.

If you anticipate having "wired" high speed internet, then you could bring a handset and your Vonage adapter with you and use it there. You would have US toll free as well as able to answer your calls via Vonage. NOTE Vonage is only as good as your high speed internet!

One last note. If you decicde you no longer need your Vonage service after you return from Mexico and it is less than two years, you will be chargeed a 39.95 cancellation fee and any rebates you had received

Actually, if your Mexico cell phone number falls under a mobile / premium breakout in Mexico which it should, it will cost you 23 cents a minute on each forwarded call.
