Craigslist blocking phone verification from Vonage phones

I just called my own toll-free number (not a toll-free number supplied by Vonage, incidentally) from a Vonage line. The Caller*ID received on the 800 number when the call arrived was my true calling number (though the name was displayed as my rate-center name). Why is the Caller*ID number displayed correctly if the calling BTN is different?

It is how the receiving carrier reads the CPN in the SS7. The SS7 will always carry the real CPN and the BTN but most carriers will read the BTN when toll free numbers are dialed.

That would be a case where I'd start getting to know the manager of that store and let them know to recognize your number. They should be able to cross-reference your phone number with your address and recognize that you're not going to rob their drivers.

I agree, I'd talk with a manager. If he wouldn't agree to accept either my Vonage or mobile number, then I guess I'd be buying my Pizza elsewhere. You can't spit without it hitting a pizza place around here.
