Disabling Remote Web Access

I'm running the Motorola VT2442 Firmware 11.4.1-r070201-1.3.2 -r1.

What I want to do is disable Remote Web Access (so you can't web to the firewall from the internet side).

I have disabled Remote Web Access under Advanced > Remote Web Access, but I can still web to the firewall (and for that matter still log in) from the internal or external interface (192.168.15.1 or an external IP address 24.x.x.x from a remote system).

I would prefer if you web to the system from the internet you get no response. At the very least you should at least not be able to log in. any ideas?

This feature is disabled by default from the WAN side. If you had enabled it at any point, you only have to disable it and save the settings. That closes down web gui access to the WAN port. It does not close down access from the LAN side. Make sure you confirmed it is disabled and saved and then tested from the internet to your public IP. Make sure you do not have the Remote Admin port forwarded to 192.168.15.1 so that it comes in through the WAN and forwards to the LAN for access.

Under Advanced > Remote Web Access, the Enable box is not checked. That setting is saved, and persistent across reboots (soft and hard - powering the device on and off). However, if you web to my external IP address from an external site (my work for example) the login screen still appears (and, if I log in with the User ID and password, it still succeeds).

I am not currently port forwarding port 80, 8080, or 22.

If I enable it, but set it to a useless IP address (say 10.255.255.254/32, with my network being 192.168.0.0/24 even), and I attempt to log in remotely (again, my work) I am still prompted for the User ID and password, and logging in still succeeds.

If I then disabled it (again), save the settings, and log out, I can still log in.
