I'm dumbfounded! I've bought Vonage products in the past, and usually see the phone adapters sold everywhere. Now that I need another phone adapter I can't find anyone who sells them anymore... whats happening??
Checked Staples and Future Shop yesterday... they no longer sell Vonage.
Checked online at Walmart, Best Buy and The Source. Nada...
Phoned a local 'The Source' store and they said they don't carry Vonage any longer.
Phoned a Best Buy store and they said they are 'sold out'.
Whats up? Should I pursue trying to find someone who sells them or is this a sign that Vonage is in trouble?
Thanks |

Since Vonage has settled on the V-Portal and has increased their online and television advertising and is pretty much recognized as the industry leader for Voip, there probably isn't a need to keep the devices in retail stores. Likewise, its probably not a big money-making seller for retailers either. Still, looking at the Vonage.ca website I see you can purchase the V-Portal there for $9.99 after rebate. |

HMMM Interesting.
Maybe the end is near.
Actually, I'd suspect that with the rebates and pricing available online that there isn't much markup in the retail market. Maybe someone will chime in with a real answer though |

I bought my V-Portal from Best Buy. I was in there about a week ago and it was there alongside the D-Link Vonage router. Alive and strong here in Central Illinois. |

I hope we are talking about in Canada. But I don't know where I've seen any up here lately. |

Office Depot used to sell some Vonage Stuff. I bought my Linksys WRT54GP2 there a few years ago.
I would think that Vonage could sell you one if you call them.
I checked the sites online and they didn't show any Vonage stuff. |

But that seems to be the only choice |

I think Vonage went with the v-portal for tech support issues. |

Sorry
I was kind of eluding to the availability only from the web.
I wasn't very clear |

I ended up finding a TI VTech 8100 at a Telephone Booth store.. one of the last they had in store.
You can order online from Vonage, true, but I gather you have to essentially order the router and have a new phone number assigned to it as part of the order.
I just wanted to buy another router for another location and use the 'Move a Number' feature to activate the router I was moving too. |
