Post subject: Still the best
yeah, I know the TOS here says no comparisons, but, I went to
www.toptenreviews.com
to find a efax type service and also looked up
Voip
services. See:
http://voip-service-review.toptenreviews.com/
Vonage
still rates best of all
Voip
. I am going to try one of those 30 free trial internet fax services, but in the end, I might just keep my
Vonage
. I also have begun using my magicJack more, since it is so cheap and has become more reliable. So far, no single company has all teh services I require. I use
Vonage
, and have that alpha softphone installed on my laptop. I tried the V-talk device, but not that that alpha softphone is working, I never bother with the V-Phone (I would transfer my number when I was going to use the V-Phone. I have Comcast for internet, and t-mobile for Cell. My
Vonage
forwards to my t-mobile number. I got a GrandCentral number a while back, but it made things more complex rather than simpler. Ideally, I would like to have a cell phone which has email, accepts two SIM cards, and also can do voice on WiFi. I sort of wish I had one of those WiFi phones
Vonage
used to sell. (Anybody have a functioning use one?) Paying $35 a month for internet access on a G1 seems silly.
Vonage
service is stable, and even though Comcast has surpassed them, my dislike of Comcast's near cable hegenomy prevents me from using them for
Voip
. Maybe I will just buy a bunch of
Vonage
stock and hope that its fortunes change.

Actually I like Grand Central (basically the same as contact book).
I work from home, I have a POTS line for business and fax (distictive ring for the fax #). I Keep the POTS for the alarm system as well.
Business associates use my Grand Central number, as it rings my business line, my cell and a
Voip
laptop line. It gives me unified voice mail for business, which is nice. I also make some outbound LD calls on Grand Central, since between
Vonage
Talk and Grand Central and Contact book, I have no neeed for LD service on that POTS line.

Yeah I received it, and have only been with
Vonage
for about 5 months.
Just wanted to buy some time to get a new cell phone with wifi.
This will do it, I'll cancel service soon.

What
Voip
service are you using with your cell phone on wifi without your cell company or
Voip
service charging minutes?

i just upgraded from the 500 basic plan to 24.99 unlimited so i was unaware...but looks like its a good thing since they are supposedly raising the basic rate..haha. prolly trying to push people into the 24.99 unlimited...its a hell of a deal anyways. 24.99 UNLIMITED incoming/outgoing with all the national long distance you want for free...hell the international rates are a steal as well.
It's not a deal if you routinely use less than 679 minutes. At 3.9 cents per minute, you have to go 179 minutes over before you are paying as much as the unlimited plan. I seldom even use the 500 minutes, and seldom call internationally, but when I do I generally use Jajah or Skype. Both have better International rates than
Vonage
, unless of course you are calling one of the countries that is included in the unlimited plan.

Wow, that will NOT be good news. It makes me very glad that I asked to be upgraded for free, then.
Let me get this straight, you would be upset at a $3/mo increase, so you are glad you already elected a $10/mo increase?

No, I was upgraded to a better plan at the same price as the plan I was on. Search for my other posts for details.
