if your DSL service is cheaper and has no issues...why switch? well...you arent because of the price i see...leave well enough alone. Unless you need the extra bandwith and speed for other things. I have Comcast 6mbps with Vonage and DirecTV. I love the variety and i have NO problems with any of my services...in fact i installed all three myself
Just as and FYI, not all of those plans are available in all Comcasts areas. The 'cheap' plan is 384kbps up/6000kbps down and the higher priced plan gives you 768kbs up/8000kbps down.
Earlier this year Comcast raised the upload caps from the 384k of performance up to 1meg, and increased 768k of performance plus up to 2meg. Currently parts of Minnesota and Massachusetts are getting upgraded to DOCSIS 3.0 which allows the increased speed packages of "Extreme 50" which consists of speed up to 50meg down and 10 meg up, and another package of 22meg down and 5meg up. The current 6000/1000 "Silver tier a.k.a Performance" will be increased to 12/2 and the 8000/2000 "Gold Tier a.k.a Performance plus" will be increased to 16000/2000. People who have Blast will get no upgrade and will probably downgrade to the standard Gold tier. AS the year ends and 2009 begins Comcast will be deploying DOCSIS 3.0 all across the U.S
Can you give me the prices of these high-speed plans? A zip code would be nice, because they are not available in my area yet.
