I have heard that Comcast allows you to use your regular phone jacks. |

Most cable companies mount the device outside and route the in-house phone wiring to it. You could do the same with your own Vonage device if you ran power out to a weatherproof box or some other well-sheltered area. |

Vonage gave me a Motorola VT2442 which is a 4 port ethernet router. I have it sitting next to my cable modem. I ran a 100 foot telephone wire from the Vonage device to the pre-existing telephone jack. So pretty much the direction of the existing telephone wires is reversed and the house is disconnected at the customer interface box outside. Coupled between the line going to the telephone jack is a 2-way splitter right from the Vonage output where I put a phone right next to my computer. |

Don't bother installing if outdoors... install your Vonage device anywhere, plug it in to the nearest telephone jack, and disconnect your house wiring from your telco line at the outdoor box. You will then have activated all of your indoor jacks with Vonage. That's what the cable companies do, also. |
