How can I get my Vonage phone number into a telephone book, since, if I use Vonage as my only phone service (not counting Cell phone), and I DO NOT want to be unlisted, so, how can I get a residential listing in the phone book? |

good question i dont know if it's possible you may be able to submit something to the phone book companies in your area. i have seen instances where cell numbers and numbers not even in the area are listed in phone books as alternate numbers. so im sure it's possible |

I've learned it's not as easy as you would think to insert a non-phone company residential listing, at least in Arizona. However, I've been told by Vonage customer service that when an existing number is transferred to Vonage, it should already be in the directory and stay there. I'm not convinced, however. Anybody have any real experience with this? |

When I transferred my existing number over to Vonage, there was a question on the sheet asking if I wanted my name to stay in the existing phone book. I wonder if that is an FCC requirement or whatever for the number portability laws. I would assume however that if you get a new number from Vonage, then Vonage would be entirely responsible for distributing their subscribers information to a directory provider. Dunno for sure since I don't even know how competing local companies do it! |

Hello, I requested that my phone number not be listed and have since disovered that it's freely available on the internet. How do you get your Vonage number removed from public telephone directory listings? I ported my SBC number over to Vonage and previously I paid to have it not listed. I also requested when signing up with Vonage that I did not want my number listed. Anyone have ideas? |
