Post subject: Series 1 TiVo suddenly stopped connecting
A friend of mine has had one of my Series 1 TiVos installed at her place for two years. I set it up to dial one of the 212 numbers and it has worked just fine. Until two weeks ago. Now she is out of program data.
I tried to reset the TiVo to call a different 212 number but it wouldn't make the first 800-call to look up those numbers. I did not set the modem speed with #019, but it had worked well for two years. Rather than mess with it there, I brought it to my house, about 2 miiles away, to see what I could do.
It works fine over my
Vonage
line!
We both have 8-megabit Internet from the same cable company. The only difference is that she has cable TV and I use a satellite dish. I checked her
Vonage
settings and the bandwidth saver is set to 90Kbps.
So my question is, has something changed with her
Vonage
line or has something changed with her cable company? I would prefer not to mess with her modem speed, but I guess I'll try that as a last resort.
