My QoS scores are very high but still receive negative feedback when I go to headsets. Both phones are VTech, one Model VDV21-VD. Currently using mid-price-range plantronics, which btw works withouts criticism on cell phone. Q1 - Any recommendations on problem or for a better headset? Q2 - Should I go to a direct (full duplex) headset and bypass the phones? Looks like this option would cost another $10/month.
I'm a very long time Vonage user and enthusiastic supporter as I have experienced almost no loss of service or quality. Thanks...Speedwell |

I have no answer for Q1, but for Q2, your problem lies exactly with the bolded phrase, full duplex. If your current headphone is half-duplex, then you will have quality issues since it is incapable of sending while receiving a signal at the same time, hence you either wait until the other person is done talking or you both talk at the same time but only one person gets through. Not good for a phone conversation. |

What kind of negative feedback do you receive? I have VTech wireless phones and have used a headset several times since switching to Vonage with no usage issues. In fact, I spend a half hour of "quality time" with Microsoft Bangalore earlier this week using the headset. I use the simple headset that came with the phone.
I agree with mundy5 - a half-duplex headset with the required turn-around between talk and listen isn't going to work well with an analog phone. |
