Is it possible for a person to come to our website and put their number and make their phone ring along with say 3 of our agents so that the first one who answers gets connected to them?

This is the code I whipped up its VB.NET

Right now when they use it if I answer the main phone that is being called I get connected it works but if I answer my cell phone that is in the simulring it hangs up right when I answer and the phone that I enter never rings... I spent 2 hours talking to Vonage on this and got a no answer about international calling. Is it possible to turn off international for this feature or just me so that we can use this on our site?

I use click to call with an ASP script, and also have VonageTalk (which works via simulring).

Actually never tried to answer on VonageTalk, but when I answer on VonageTalk, it just hangs up, same experience as you.

But Vonage Me works with simulring.

Hmmmm.

You cannot use Click2Call with a number your forward or simulring to. It will ring but, as you described, the call won't be connected.

Try this HTML form replacing the colored CAPS with the correct information and insert in your web page. You set up the contact info in your VonageMe page.

We have to have it work via an asp textbox on our site so that it fits and the press 1 thing is kind of annoying.

Why exactly will C2C not do SimulRing?

Can the bug be fixed to that this will work be fixed relatively soon? We have dumped a a pretty good amount of money into branding this site, having artists make material and coding time and this is our only hold up to going live.

You can probably pass the data from the ASP textbox to the form destination (https://me.vonage.com/USER_NAME) using the http post from the textbox control.

Regarding fixing the "bug", I assume this is by design.

It's not a bug and it's not going to be fixed since there is no further development being done with any third party call control apps like C2C. The reason it does not work is because the C2C application is performing a call transfer to your selected Vonage number. When answering the Vonage number, which is the Referred-By in the Invite of the call transfer, it will connect. When answering on the Simul-Ring number, which then becomes the Referred-By in the call transfer Invite, the Invite sent from the Gateway will be dropped because it is not the destined Vonage number and cannot be authenticated or billed against..

So is there any way that I can use Vonage or another carrier to do what I need to do?

We need a way to programmaticly have one person type in their phone number on our site and our agents that might have Vonage or might not phones ring and the first one to answer gets the call? We would pay extra for this feature if it could be provided...

Vonage does not offer anything that would fit the exact functionality your are looking to do so it's not about paying more money. What you are looking to do is just not possible at this time. The only thing close that could possibly do it is the V-Me feature mentioned in previous posts.

Is the feature your looking for available from anyone else at any price?

One option is to use grandcentral www.grandcentral.com, but is much like Vonage ME, does not have the 1 to confirm or the large splash page.

Grand Central is owned by Google and currently is free, suposedly in BETA, though has been so for a couple of years. Not sure of future support or the continuation of the free status.

You can set up a new phone number, then set simulrings to other numbers.

The call me button allows for the User to put in their name and phone number, their phone rings and a recording "Grand Central is connecting your call" plays, then all of the simulring phones ring, you can answer from any.

The graphic (button) is associated with your account on the GC server, so you WILL NOT be able to use your own graphic or your own form.

Overall this is NOT the exact functionality you are looking for but will work as Vonage Me will work.
