The cable company wants $39.99 for the first year, and that is on a bundle to have cable and internet, after the first year it goes up to $44.99. I am paying Vonage only $24.99 for a much better product.
I know, and I am not recommending cable Voip, just that this is a BIG reason (along with the first year or two discount) that folks buy it. Only one place to complain to and no finger pointing is possible.
As for me, Vonage isthe beter deal when you consider that add ons the cable companies have like voice mail, long distance, etc.
