Good Morning,

I travel a lot and therefore took Vonage thinking that I will be able to use it from everywhere esp. from India where I spend near 2-3 months every year. We have airtel broadband with the beetel 220BX at home. I have tried connecting the Motorola vt2142 to the modem using all instructions in the manual. I have been able to connect to Vonage and make calls but have lost internet. I have tried everything but am unable to browse any web page.

1. Your location -- India
2. Your ISP name and type (cable, DSL, wireless etc) - Airtel, DSL
3. Upload and download speeds - 103MBPS, 87MBPS
4. Modem make and model - Beetel 220Bx
5. Type of Vonage adapter used -- VT2142
6. Setup of Network ie Modem---->Vonage Adapter-->PC
7. Issue you are experiencing - Unable to open any webpage
8. Run this Voip Test: After the test has fully completed, in the Advanced Tab, click on "View Text" in the lower right hand corner. Copy-N-Paste that data into your post.

The first quick test you should do is to see if your PC even has connectivity to the router. In your web browser, go to http://192.168.15.1 and if you get to the router's login page you are good for an IP but may be experiencing a DNS issue. If you cannot reach the router's login page, you have either a bad cable, bad NIC, bad port on the router, or NIC not set to obtain IP address automatically(DHCP). This will require troubleshooting on your end to pinpoint the issue.

You need to first verify your IP settings on your PC. Go to start, run, type cmd. At the DOS prompt type ipconfig /all

Make sure you have an IP address of 192.168.15.x(x represents any random number 2 - 254), a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, a default gateway of 192.168.15.1, and DNS servers should be either 192.168.15.1 or some random DNS assigned by the ISP. If you do have all this information, you may want to post your DNS srevers here so we can verify they are actually resolving hostnames. The Vonage voice module uses Vonage's own DNS servers which are hard coded to the voice module's profile. The router itself does not use these.

I was able to fix the problem by enabling the DHCP
Thanks to VonTechMgr for pointing me to the right direction.
