I have the following test results:
My Results
Download 515,552 bps
Upload 103,864 bps
QOS 99%
RTT 29 ms
MaxPause 155 ms


It says I can have one phone connected but when I call I can hear crystal clear but the other end it is choppy and they can't make out. Any one knows the reason?? It is always the case.

Zoom Modem Bridge, Vonage Motorola Phone adaptor, Panasonic Easa Phone.

Damras -

Your upload is marginal. Vonage requires 90k, you have just over 100. That means that even web surfing while you are on on your Vonage line will affect outbound voice.

Go to www.testyourvoip.com and perform the Voip test to Boston. Post the detailed results there, in a new thread, and post some details about what else you use your Internet connection for while on the Vonage line (typical web surfing, BitTorrent, etc).

This test has been carried out at 4:30 AM Boston time when the traffic is less. Otherwise I can't carry out the test. Upload score is 1.0 and Download score is 4.2

Damras -

Yes, your getting crystal clear audio and the other end not being able to hear you at all would be perfectly consistent with those readings.

Start a new thread, and post these results there. Then hook up a computer directly to your Internet connection and run the test again. If the test is as poor as this one came out, then you need to have a serious talk with your Internet Service Provider, because frankly with a score of 1.0 outbound, I'm surprised you can make calls at all.

I can't seem to use the speed test I get a graphic and a "License expired" message. I just hooked up my Vonage adapter, anyone else getting this?

I just got it as well...just moved to a new house and wanted to see my speeds. had to use testyourvoip.com for now. Getting better scores then before so I'm looking forward to seeing my actual numbers.

If you go to http://www.vonage.com

then don't even enter your logon, just select Help, then on the initial Help page the first "Top Ten Most Helpful Articles" is "How can I test my upload speed?" ... select it, it works.

Weird...

I have faster than most, but others can support more than the 25 I can.... And my calls are horrible, constant static on my end, and dropouts of my voice to the other party... I had to put my VT1005 behind the router because it cant handle more than 12Mb or so, and I have 30, but you would thing I have enough bandwidth to not worry?

And another odd thing... Here at the forums test I get...

Its almost like either Vonage doesnt have the bandwidth, or optonline boost is giving Vonage a low QOS. Its in the toilet over there...
