Think I'll have any troubles?
I signed up with Vonge last weekend.
I am on Comcast paying for a 6 meg/384 connection. Took 3 tries to get these results. Once the Qos hit in the low 80's. I have 2 other modems connected to this coax via a 4 way splitter. The other 2 modems fluctuate with their Qos ratings sometimes dropping to 31%.That is on an older surfboard 4101 Docis 1.0 though and it only gets 6 megs dows 2 megs up. These results below are with a Surfboard 5100 cable modem.
I like this bandwidth test. Its much better than just uploading and downloading a standard 100 meg file and measuring the time.
All I can say is GOODLUCK with Comcast and
Vonage
. I've had
Vonage
with my Comcast for over a year now and I have to say it's a real good deal. The only issue I see is if your Comcast can maintain it's latency quality. I got serious issues with a crouded neighborhood and terrible ping at peak times.

Yep, I believe that after 8 months of hell my connection is solid. Unless they sign up another 400 people in my area.

Post subject: Value of Speed Test?
I'm wondering what the value is of these tests. Apparently they are all the same java script but it has to do where they are located, I believe.
I'm in Oklahoma. Most of my tests to California, Texas and Chicago consistently show QOS above 90%. However, the site here consistently shows below 50%. Anyone know where this server is actually located?
I'm not saying this one is wrong or even located in a bad location on the backbone. The reason I am doing these test is because I have customers from time to time telling me I have a bad phone line. So I know that I must have a bad QOS from time to time. One customer particularly tells me not to talk when I am uploading a file to her. I suspect this is due to my upload speed.
I tend to think these 'snapshots in time' prove little, even if run multiple times. It must be due to where it is located from your location and doesn't contain an algorithm to balance the difference out.
Any opinions on my assumptions?
Here are my results that were taken minutes apart. I might also say that I have done these tests both through the router and directly connected to my modem (it does not contain a router/switch/ or wireless) where the only item connected is my computer.
