I was wondering if anyone has any problems with calls while playing games? With my game playing (MMORPG) the test says i can only sustain one call, but with the game off, i can do 10. Im just a little cautious before cancelling the reg phone service and diving into

ok, this 22 page thread about testing your connection probably isn't the best place for your question. start a new thread and follow the directions in the "I'm having problems" sticky.

You have the upload speed for it, that much is clear and that is what the
Voip
results are based on.
Your issue is clearly one with your ISP and the quality of your connection, hence the RTT 137 ms and MaxPause 313 ms which is the basis of conversation in a new topic, if you so wish.
I hope this was helpful.

Post subject: Speed Test - New Computer
I purchased a new computer a week ago, this is something that I don't do very often, in this case once every 9 years. Right off I noticed a substantial increase in my Road Runner connection speed. Since I am still running my old machine on a network with the new one I decided to run the speed test on both machines to see what's going on.
OLD MAchine - Micron Pentium Pro 200MHz, 128Mb Ram
My Results
Download 1,738,704 bps
Upload 287,144 bps
QOS 73%
RTT 71 ms
MaxPause 375 ms
NEW Machine - Dell 380 2.9GHz, 1Gig Ram
My Results
Download 3,261,984 bps
Upload 359,992 bps
QOS 79%
RTT 62 ms
MaxPause 63 ms
Tests were made within 10 minutes of each other using Internet Explorer loaded on both machines.
Next I went to another speed test site and performed their test.
OLD Machine - Micron Pentium Pro 200MHz, 128Mb Ram
Communications 2.4 megabits per second
Storage 297.4 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 3.4 seconds
NEW Machine - Dell 380 2.9GHz, 1Gig Ram
Communications 4.8 megabits per second
Storage 588.2 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 1.7 second

Says i can support 4 HQ lines
Been having problems with connections and p2p downloads. I just recently switched my old Motorola MTA/VT1005 for a rtp300. I really hope the QOS feature helps out alot and i have been tweaking the settings. So far i had only one problem with people not hearing me and it was because i was using too much of my upload speed. Been with
Vonage
for over 2 years now and i love their service.
Vonage
is surely one of the best out there.
BTW that test was taken with road runner from NY capital region. I have a 3.2 ghz p4 with 768 DDR2 ram.

On other speedtest sites i get almost twice that (5891 down, 384 up)...but during the test I was downloading a large file which I didn't wish to interrupt. Still, I am well within the range. I thought about signing up for
Vonage
for many weeks before taking the plunge tonight (ordered the Vtech IP8100 phone also)... in 5 to 7 business days it's official.
My first post here. I'm glad this forum exists, in case I run into problems. But I doubt I'll have to ask, since so much is covered here
Thanks & Bon

Given your current Internet speeds, we estimate that your Internet connection can support a maximum of 3 simultaneous high quality

connections.
