Unless there's a typo on your post, you're getting about 1/10 that. I'd try temporarily removing any routers, etc. that you have. Connect your computer directly to the cable modem and re-run the speed test. If you don't get what you're paying for, call your ISP and raise the roof.

This is consistently "scoring" me about 25% of what I get from other testers which are right there with my rated speeds. I'm in NC.

BTW I am having very slow connection with WRTP54G. I was having much better performance with BEFW11s4 router (802.1b)

Post subject: Spped test for UK customers?
Hi all,
Running the
Vonage
speed test consistently gives me awful downstream rates typicallt 1 or 2 Mbs on my 8Mbs service.
Running speedtests to
www.adslguide.org.co.uk
gives me a consistent 8Mbs downstream and 500kps upstream.
Also another test I run is to download a 30mb file from the US Logitec website that nearly always gives me 1mbytes/s which is what I would expect.
Does ir seem reasonable that the speed test is unreliable in the UK?
Regards,
Paul

I'm getting terrible results...absolute best on numerous tries over 45 minutes was 1.47/151 using Shaw cable. Can i expect anything better from their high speed cable?(British Columbia)

I have a quite respectable bandwidth, but due the volitility of the load on my home network plus two
Vonage
adapters (3 total lines), I was getting quite a bit of choppiness on some calls (with everything in parallel).
I put the two
Vonage
adapters in series before the network hub, so that they would get the first crack at the bandwidth. The first adapter phone never has problems. The second one is occasionally very choppy - usually fine.
Has anyone tried a router with QoS ports to see what sort of service ratio you need to give the phone adaptors vs. a network?
