Granted that was geared towards P8, but I believe they are still applicable.
In that thread you asked:
"Could you guys/gals give me your opinions on latency, packet discards, jitter etc?"
All you got was people posting their test results!! Too bad people don't read the question.

Your input is definitely appreciated. Maybe we can get some of those gurus you mentioned to contribute to this thread making it a valuable and useful source of information for all posters.
Hopefully there will be a "sticky" or one particular thread like the one created for the "tweaks test" at dslreports.com. As you probably know, that test produces a detailed report on your connection and the values reported are clearly defined as to their meaning and if they are problematic there is a source which suggest changes which will remedy the issue.
Here's hoping !!

Hey JoeP,
I would be glad to respond to your questions. I will see what I can put together now. I suggest though that you start a new thread. I can't speak for the others, but I kind of just skim this thread because it has historically been just a dumping ground for test results. Because of that, I didn't catch your post the first time you posted.
I am going to quote you and start a new thread. Once it is started I will edit this message and add a link.
[EDIT:
Link to New Thread

Thanks for the input. I agree that a new thread is needed, this one is worn out!!!
I emailed Brix Networks and asked for more information on the test results of their "TestMyVoIP". My objective is to determine the various value levels for the metrics reported in their test. The reason for this information was explained my last post.
Once I get that information how would you suggest I get it to you? Also, I have compiled some very good explanation of some of metrics in their test but it does not contain value levels for the "good, bad and ugly". If you prefer I could post it into this thread and once all of the information gathered either you or I could start a new thread with the appropriate title.
Please advise.
Thanks
Joe P
Edit; I overlooked your statement that you intend to quote me and start a new thread. (I read too fast!!) I would suggest changing the Subject line to:
Interpreting The Test Results

The outgoing numbers are dismal most of the time. Sometimes ingoing is also bad, but not this time. It would seem to me that a majority of my problems come from packet loss or discard. Could these packet problems be a router problem? Any suggestions what I can do? I have checked the forums for solutions, but most discussion is on QOS. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
