I am confused, my download speed is about the same from test to test but my upload speed on the Vonage site is 10-15 and on other sites it ranges from 75-144. why is it so much slower on the Vonage test
My Results Download 523,456 bps Upload 13,368 bps QOS 98% RTT 2 ms MaxPause 63 ms
I have cable ISP, and the speeds do vary. Greatly. I think this is the cause of all my woes with Voip, but it's been better since a tech came to fix a prob with my line.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we need to disable our Anti virus scanner and firewall in order to use the speed test. I did after a few tests showing '0' calls possible, and that number went up to 'one'.
Man, I live in a small remote town, and my ISP is in the City about 100 miles away, so life just **** in general. This means that when I use their speed test, my speeds are faster, because they're closer, and when I use other ones, the speeds are slower. Way slower. This doesn't really mean that the speeds for me to surf or call locally will be better than if I'm at a site, or on a call that's far away, but it does have some effect.
