i just hooked my adapter form linksys up. i have the wrt54gs router. i have the connection as follows:

cable modem ->adapter -> wrt54gs -> computers (wired and wireless)

first off, is this setup OK? seems it would be. if so, do i need to enable QoS on my wrt54gs since its after the adapter?

my results from the Vonage speed test site:

dl: 4.21 Mbps
up: 368 kpbs
QOS: 98%
max pause: 16ms

this is with my home network at idle.

with the wife on the phone:

Download 4,119,888 bps
Upload 243,136 bps
QOS 99%
RTT 59 ms
MaxPause 16 ms

3 simultaneous calls...

My Results
Download 4,203,432 bps

I have heard of Verizon's FiOS service. Has anyone had experience with them? Is it worth it to switch?

If I were in a FiOS market, I would be signed up so fast, I would hardly know it.

That's where they offer up to 30mbps speeds on a fiber optic pipe.

I'm running a PAP2 with the c firmware and a WRT54G. The results I received are as follows:

Download 3,927,152 bps
Upload 344,528 bps
QOS 80%
RTT 50 ms
MaxPause 120 ms

Any recommendations? Wife is going to kill me if I can't get this resolved.

Thanks.

We've been getting a lot of delay in phone calls. The quality is excellent, no background noises or echoes, just hesitation, where you will say something and then the other person doesn't hear it for 5 - 10 seconds.

Thanks,
baubieeed
