Hello Everyone,
I have a Vonage phone at home -- which is basically 2 cordless phones. One of which is connected to the vonage box.
I am looking for a digital call recorder which I can connect between the vonage box and the main cordless phone base, such that conversations from both the sides are automatically recorded.
I have searched a lot and could not find anything. Please NOTE that I do not have a computer that I can connect the digital recorder to, since I do not have a computer at home and I want to connect the digital recorder to the vonage box and phone such that all incoming and outgoing calls are recorded in my absence while I am travelling for work.
Please help. |

Vonage has recently lauanched a new software "vonage companion" . You can download this software on to your computer and using this software you can make & recieve calls.
This software has a feature with which you will be able to record calls |

That is not totally correct.
You can use Vonage Companion only if you are subscribing to Vonage Pro. It doesn't work with a standard (or unlimited) plan. |

Also your callers are told they are being recorded. |

To expound on that last post - in nearly every state in the United States, at least one party involved in the conversation needs to be aware that their conversation is being recorded. In some states all parties involved in the conversation need to be aware that their conversations are recorded.
If you are wanting to set this up for covert or secret recordings of conversations where none of the parties involved are aware up-front that the conversation is being recorded, then it is more than likely that this activity is illegal, and if it is discovered you may face civil and/or criminal penalties for such usage.
That being said, Radio Shack is a great resource for such devices.

Digital Voice Tele-Recorder, $99.99, Model: DVTR-680, Catalog #: 43-127
Digital recording, no tapes required, connect to USB on your PC to copy the recordings off.
Radio Shack also have versions that require cassette tapes, they also have standalone devices that will hook into an existing digital or analog recorder. I personally use the RS 43-228, running directly into my PC to record selected calls. |
