I connected the Phone 1 jack to my house phone wiring, which goes to 3 phones; 2 cordless and 1 old analog phone. Everything works fine, but for the incoming call, only one of the cordless phones rings in small burst. The ring/bell sounds very weak, and sometimes not ringing at all. Vonage sent me the LinkSys RT31P2. I did removed the incoming line from Verizon at the box. What can I do to make all three phones ring for incoming calls?

do you know what the REN is on the phones? they may need more current than the RT31P2 produces. I believe it supports up to 5.
The only reason I threw that out there is because you have multiple phones, so this could be this issue. However I had the exact same issue with a single cordless phone (barely would ring and would also only display caller id info for a second). Vonage told me they upped the voltage output on the RT31P2 and it worked fine since.

I added up the REN index of all three phones and it's 1.6 (.1 & .5 on 2 of my cordless, and 1 on my old old old POT).

I wonder how to "up" the ring voltage output of the RT31P2 Confused

you have to call Vonage and ask them to do it. or just describe your issue which is what I did, and that was apparently the solution. I assume it's under the "voice" section of the rt31p2 that customer's don't have access to.

My PAP2 and MOTO cordless headset had this problem. Email dslreports@vonage.com and ask them to increase the ring level to your device. Should fix your issue.

Also, make sure that your house's phone lines really are disconnected from the outside. If your Vonage box is trying to drive a couple miles of copper, then that could theoretically kill the ringer.

You might also call and ask to have Vonage switch you from phone port 1 to phone port 2. I had the exact same problem with the Linksys box and customer support determined that the first port was defective for some reason. They fixed it about 6 weeks ago and I've had no problems with the ringers on all three of my cordless phones ever since.

I've tried everything! Sad
I called Vonage, and they did increase the ring level to high. I then wait for few hours, and call my home number with a cell phone. The ring sporadically, the cordless phones (2) barely ring.

I then yanked out all the wires, and re-run the wires, from the the linksys to two cordless phones. No more using the wires in the wall, still same thing happened, the two phones barely ring.

I connected directly from linksys to ONE cordless phone (AT&T), and it rings properly. I then switched, the linksys to the other cordless phone (GE), and it rings OK. Somehow, connecting both of them in parallel, the linksys just does not have enough juice to drive them both. Sad How sad. What am I to do?

Thank you all for the helps and advices. I just fired off an email to Vonage asking them to switch my services to Phone port 2 on the LinkSys. Will see what happen next. In the mean while, I have some cleaning to do, telephone wires are all over the place; phone plates on the floor, and some dry wall patching to do. Sad I hate LinkSys now.

Did you ever get this resolved? If so, how did you do it? I have EXACTLY the same problem and have gone through all the same troubleshooting steps. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
